More Uses For Vinegar

Here's a few more uses for plain vinegar in the kitchen.

  • Adding a teaspoon of vinegar to the boiling water before you add the rice will help to ensure a 'fluffy' result.
  • Wash salad leaves and green vegetables in water to which you have added half a cup of vinegar. This will kill any bugs and they will also float to the surface.
  • Difficult spots on stainless steel can be cleaned using a soft cloth dipped in neat vinegar.
  • To loosen food particles stuck to the inside of a microwave oven, put one cup of water in a glass bowl, add one quarter cup of vinegar and bring this to the boil in the microwave. You will be able to wipe the interior surface clean with a damp cloth.

And just a reminder, if you are going to the beach take a bottle of vinegar with you. It's the ideal way to relieve jellyfish stings.
