Honey Glazed Chicken
This is a great way to use one of those cooked chickens on sale in most supermarkets. While they may be pretty dull on their own, they are easily disguised with the right kind of sauce.
As a matter of fact, the chances are you will be the only person to know you didn’t cook the whole thing.
Here’s what you need:
1 store bought cooked chook ½ cup of honey 125ml white wine 1tbs soy sauce 1tbs lemon juice 1 crushed clove of garlic 1tbs grated ginger 1tsp cornstarch
Preheat the oven to 190°C, 375°F
Cut the chicken into pieces and put it into an ovenproof dish. Put the honey and wine into a pan and heat gently while stirring.
Make a paste from the lemon juice, soy sauce and cornstarch and add this to the honey mixture. Bring to the boil while stirring and then add in the ginger and crushed garlic.
Pour the resulting sauce over the chicken pieces and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Baste halfway through the cooking time but do not cover.
